Selena Gomez seeks dismissal of Wondermind investor lawsuit
Selena Gomez and her legal team are seeking to dismiss a lawsuit filed by investors of Wondermind, a mental health startup she co-founded with her mother, Mandy Teefey, and partner Daniela Pirson.
The investors, who reportedly invested approximately $1.2 million, allege they were misled regarding the company’s leadership, resources, and infrastructure. The lawsuit claims the founders promised an ambitious ecosystem including a mobile app and celebrity-driven content, with Gomez expected to serve as a key figure in marketing. However, plaintiffs argue many of these initiatives were never realized and that they received inaccurate information about the company's management and financial health.
Gomez’s attorney, Matthew S. Rosengart, has called the allegations “absurd” and “unfounded,” noting that the claims are vague and contradictory. His defense emphasizes that Gomez was never a member of the board of directors, did not have a minority ownership stake, and never agreed to manage the company, serving instead as a consultant and chief social impact officer.
