Self-help organizations hold community awareness events in Germany

Regional self-help organizations in Germany held events to promote community support and visibility for individuals facing health and social challenges.

In Weyhe, the Kibis self-help contact point for the Diepholz district organized an information platform at the local market square. The event aimed to make regional support networks visible to those dealing with unexpected life changes, such as cancer diagnoses, chronic illnesses, or mental health crises. The initiative used the motto ‘We are all in the same boat’ to emphasize the power of shared experiences.

In Tirschenreuth, the North Upper Palatinate Self-Help Contact Point hosted its 6th Self-Help Day and 2nd Health and Social Day at the district office. The event featured 40 exhibitors providing information and facilitating discussions between visitors and service providers to strengthen local social and health networks.
