Sellafield Ltd awards major nuclear maintenance contracts

Sellafield Ltd has selected partners under its Projects and Asset Care Execution (PACE) framework to manage maintenance, modification, and development at its nuclear site in the United Kingdom. The framework is designed to replace previous asset maintenance and engineering service programs.

OneAxIoM, a joint venture between Amentum and Mitie Plc, has been chosen for Lot 1. This contract, valued at up to £2.1 billion, will support spent fuel management and retrievals through engineering, procurement, and plant modification. The agreement is set for an initial nine years with a potential six-year extension.

Hochtief, a German subsidiary of ACS, has been selected for Lot 2. This portion of the contract, which could reach up to £1.5 billion (€1.75 billion), focuses on specialized nuclear facilities related to special nuclear materials and decommissioning activities. This agreement also carries an initial nine-year term with a possible six-year extension.
