Sellafield nuclear site maintenance contracts

Overview

Sellafield Ltd has initiated a major framework for maintenance, modification, and development at its United Kingdom nuclear site through the Projects and Asset Care Execution (PACE) program. This framework is intended to replace previous engineering and asset maintenance service programs.

Under this framework, multiple partners have been selected for specific roles. OneAxIoM, a joint venture between Amentum and Mitie Plc, was awarded a contract valued at up to £2.1 billion to support plant modification, procurement, and spent fuel management and retrievals.

Additionally, the German construction group Hochtief, through its subsidiary Hochtief Infrastructure, secured a contract for Lot 2 valued at up to £1.5 billion. This portion focuses on decommissioning activities and specialized nuclear facilities related to special nuclear materials. Both major contracts include an initial nine-year term with a potential six-year extension.
