Selçuk, Turkey launches workshops on child rights and women’s health
The Efes Selçuk Municipality, in partnership with the Turkey Family Planning Foundation (TAPV) and the Saadet Teacher Child Abuse Prevention Association (UCİM), organized community workshops on July 14 at the Belevi Child Development Center. The children’s session, titled “Learning My Bodily Rights,” taught 5‑8‑year‑olds about personal boundaries and rights through games. The women’s session, “Women’s Health Conversations,” provided participants with information on body awareness and health topics, allowing them to discuss concerns with experts.
Municipality Women and Family Services Director Özgül Karaalioğlu Yavuz emphasized the importance of empowering women and children, noting that the workshops aim to ensure they remain strong, safe, and aware of their rights. The programs will continue throughout the summer in other neighborhoods based on demand.
