Semarang reaches 90% readiness for 31st National MTQ

Preparations for the 31st National Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ Nasional) in Semarang, Central Java, have reached approximately 90 percent completion. The event is scheduled to take place from September 11 to 20, 2026.

Central Java Provincial Secretary Sumarno reported that officials are finalizing venues, accommodation, transportation, and security. The Simpang Lima area, specifically Lapangan Pancasila, has begun undergoing layout adjustments to serve as the opening venue. All facilities are targeted for completion by September 7, 2026.

The event will host delegations from 38 provinces. To ensure smooth operations, authorities have prepared 6,180 security personnel and 224 health teams, supported by referral hospitals including RS Nasional Diponegoro, RS Telogorejo, RSD K. R. M. T. Wongsonegoro, and RS Adhyatma. The festivities will commence with a Ta’aruf Night on September 11, followed by a parade and the official opening on September 12.
