BRI's LinkUMKM drives Semarang SMEs into global markets

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) is using its LinkUMKM platform to support micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) with capacity‑building, digital tools and market‑expansion services. The program, now accessed by more than 15.5 million UMKMs, offers integrated features such as UMKM Smart, Rumah BUMN, Media, Community, Digital Showcase and Coaching Clinic.

In Semarang, the platform has helped two businesses reach overseas customers. Yuli Muhawati’s Mlatiwangi, founded in 2017, produces natural‑fiber bags made from materials such as pandan, reed, rattan and banana leaf, blended with Indonesian batik fabrics. Iin Windhi Indah Tjahjani’s Cinta Batik Semarang, operating since 2006, creates eco‑friendly batik using natural dyes and markets limited‑edition collections through offline stores, marketplaces and B2B channels. Both owners credit LinkUMKM for training, QRIS payment integration and BRI savings accounts that facilitated export growth. Iin said, “Mengenal LinkUMKM … ada banyak kegiatan yang bermanfaat untuk kemajuan usaha kita.”
