Morelia Mayor presents second government report amid major infrastructure investments

Morelia Mayor Alfonso Martínez Alcázar presented his second government report, highlighting significant infrastructure investments and social programs. Michoacán Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla noted that the state is executing an investment exceeding 10.4 billion pesos to transform mobility in the capital. Key projects include the Morelia cable car (3 billion pesos), the Morebús transport system (2.9 billion pesos), and various road distributors and peripheral ring segments.

The municipal administration reported the construction of 75 kilometers of rural roads and emphasized social initiatives through DIF Morelia, such as autism and senior citizen centers. The report also touched on cultural and tourism growth, including the city's designation as a Creative City of Music and the expansion of Day of the Dead festivities.

Politically, the event drew attention to future electoral prospects for 2027. Uruapan Mayor Grecia Quiroz attended, describing her relationship with Martínez Alcázar as “institutionally respectful” despite shared views on the state's development. Additionally, Martínez Alcázar urged local youth to move beyond economic subsidies toward active civic participation and professional development.
