Jon Ossoff rallies in Atlanta, attacks Trump ahead of Georgia Senate race

Senator Jon Ossoff and gubernatorial candidate Keisha Lance Bottoms held a joint rally at The Tabernacle in Atlanta. Ossoff denounced President Donald Trump, calling him a “failed president” and “national disgrace” and said, “He’s trying to put his face on the money… he’s building a monument to himself.” He also attacked Trump’s social‑media activity and a White House ballroom project, and labeled Republican Senate contenders Rep. Mike Collins and former coach Derek Dooley “Trump puppets.”

The rally highlighted rising cost‑of‑living concerns – inflation, gas, groceries and childcare – and framed the upcoming November election as a broader fight over Georgia’s political direction. Ossoff is the only Democratic incumbent senator in a state Trump carried in 2024, and his seat is seen as pivotal for Democrats seeking to flip control of the Senate. Bottoms is aiming to become the first Democratic governor of Georgia since 1998. The event precedes a June 16 Republican runoff that will determine the GOP Senate nominee.

Republican candidates also spar over an ethics investigation into Collins’s use of taxpayer funds. The rally underscored Democratic momentum and a coordinated push to unite voters in a state that has become a key battleground in national elections.
