Senar Minas students sweep medals at Brazilian Agricultural Olympics

Students from the Senar Minas e-Tec Network achieved a clean sweep of the gold, silver, and bronze medals in the Subsequente category at the 15th Brazilian Agricultural Olympics (Obap). The competition took place from August 3 to 8 at the Instituto Federal do Triângulo Mineiro in Uberaba.

The gold medal was awarded to the team from the Conselheiro Lafaiete hub, consisting of agribusiness technical students Nathália Camila de Souza, Laura Pereira Valois, and Késia Martinelli de Souza, under the guidance of Vilma Matias. Nathália Camila de Souza also secured the highest individual score in the category.

The in-person stage of Obap brought together 250 students and teachers from 19 Brazilian states, as well as participants from Argentina, Colombia, and Paraguay. Celso Furtado Júnior, superintendent of Senar Minas, stated that the results demonstrate the effectiveness of technical education in preparing professionals for the agriculture and livestock sectors.
