Senate committee orders probe into Sindh MDCAT 2026 irregularities

The Senate Standing Committee on National Health has ordered an investigation into the MDCAT 2026 examination process and results in Sindh, following complaints regarding transparency and accuracy. Chairman Amir Chishti stated that the MDCAT may be re-conducted in the province if the inquiry proves negligence or irregularities.

The Ministry of Health has been directed to form an independent inquiry committee, in coordination with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) and the Sindh government, to review examination centers and the compilation of results. A four-member professional inquiry team has been dispatched from Islamabad to Sukkur to begin the probe.

Simultaneously, the Sindh High Court is reviewing a petition alleging errors in released answer keys and restrictions on candidates taking question papers from centers. While the court declined to halt the preparation of the merit list, it noted that the list could be adjusted if petitioners are granted relief. The court has sought responses from relevant parties by November 10.
