Senator Alan Rick allocates R$700k and vehicles to Rio Branco charities

Senator Alan Rick (Republicanos) attended a ceremony on Friday, the 12th, in Rio Branco, Acre, to deliver two vehicles and a total of R$700,000 to two local social organisations, the Associação Amigos do Peito and the Fundação Afif Arão. The funding was provided through the municipality to purchase the vehicles and to support the entities’ activities.

The Associação Amigos do Peito, which operates a house of passage for cancer patients from across Acre, serves about 32 patients in rotation, offering lodging, meals and assistance during treatment. Its president highlighted that the new vehicle will improve outreach and administrative work. The Fundação Afif Arão, active for nearly 14 years, runs programmes for social inclusion, professional training, sports and cultural activities for children, youth, elders and vulnerable groups in Rio Branco and surrounding municipalities.

Local officials, including Rio Branco’s first lady Roberta Lins, mayor Alysson Bestene, federal deputy Roberto Duarte, state deputy Tadeu Hassem, councilors Zé Lopes and Neném Almeida, and municipal Social Assistance secretary Ivan Ferreira, were present and praised the partnership between public authorities and civil society.
