Senator Alan Rick funds new UFAC school building in Rio Branco
Senator Alan Rick (Republicanos‑AC) allocated more than R$ 22 million for the construction of a new headquarters for the Colégio de Aplicação of the Federal University of Acre (UFAC) in Rio Branco. During his visit on 3 May, Rick inspected the site, which will house classrooms, laboratories, a library, cafeteria, gymnasium, parking and a semi‑Olympic pool, and is designed to serve over 500 students and hundreds of families.
The rector of UFAC, Guida Aquino, said the project marks a major advance for education in Acre and thanked the senator for the funding. The school's director, Cleiton França, and student union president, Matheus Silva Monteiro, expressed optimism that the building, scheduled for official delivery on 4 August—the rector’s birthday—will greatly improve learning conditions.
The new facility is part of a broader effort to modernise the university’s campus and expand its capacity to prepare students for higher education and future careers.
