Senator Imelda Castro tours Sinaloa municipalities to boost youth and tourism

Senator Imelda Castro, on a licence from the Senate, visited the southern Sinaloa towns of Escuinapa and Concordia. In public assemblies she thanked residents for their support, stressed the need for unity and regional development, and announced she will intensify her visits throughout August while Morena’s national leadership selects a coordinator for the Comités de Defensa de la Transformación y la Soberanía Nacional.

Castro highlighted the importance of investing in young people, describing them as the future leaders who must be steered away from negative paths. She also promoted local tourism, noting Concordia’s colonial architecture, history, gastronomy and traditional crafts such as Mesillas‑style wooden chairs and pottery. Referring to President Claudia Sheinbaum’s call to defend national sovereignty, she warned Sinaloa’s citizens against foreign interference in Mexico’s justice system.
