Senator Simey Olvera Bautista faces criticism over impersonator at report

Morena Senator Simey Olvera Bautista has faced criticism following her second labor report in Ixmiquilpan, Hidalgo. The controversy stems from the presence of actress Tamara Henaine, who appeared at the event performing as 'Claudita', an impersonation of Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.

Critics on social media questioned the use of a parody character during a formal legislative report, with some suggesting the event served as a premature campaign launch for Olvera Bautista, who is considered a potential candidate for the governorship of Hidalgo. The event also featured Senator Gerardo Fernández Noroña.

In addition to the impersonation, Olvera Bautista drew scrutiny for her delivery of historical quotes attributed to Vicente Guerrero and Benito Juárez during her speech. The senator, a former journalist and local legislator from Hidalgo, is currently serving in the LXVI Legislature.
