Solomon Adeola unveils Ogun 2027 agenda amid legal disputes
Senator Solomon Adeola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 Ogun State governorship, has unveiled a nine-point development agenda titled ‘Itesiwaju’. The plan focuses on infrastructure, job creation, security, education, health, and agricultural transformation. Adeola has pledged to implement a mass transit program and commuter rail services in collaboration with the Nigerian Railway Corporation.
Simultaneously, political tensions in Ogun State have escalated. Former governorship aspirant Abayomi Hunye has filed a lawsuit in the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking a judicial review of Adeola’s past electoral documents submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The suit aims to verify the consistency of the state of origin declared by Adeola in previous elections.
In response to identity controversies, Adeola’s media adviser, Kayode Odunaro, clarified that the senator changed his name from Sulaimon Ogunleye to Solomon Adeola following a religious conversion from Islam to Christianity. Odunaro stated the change occurred decades ago and was a lawful personal decision, dismissing allegations of fraudulent intent regarding his background.
