Senegal advances regional development planning in Goudiry and Casamance

Regional authorities in Senegal have launched new strategic planning initiatives to address local socio-economic and environmental challenges. In the Goudiry Department, the Departmental Council has begun updating its Departmental Development Plan (PDD). This process aims to create a strategic tool tailored to the region's specific needs, focusing on climate change, food security, migration, women's empowerment, and youth integration.

Simultaneously, in the southern Casamance region, the Directorate General of Planning and Economic Policies (DGPPE) is conducting a review of the South Territory Pole, which encompasses the Ziguinchor, Sédhiou, and Kolda regions. Through a multi-day workshop, officials are working to identify growth drivers and value chains. The goal is to produce a consolidated diagnostic report that reflects local realities by collaborating with territorial actors to ensure the development plan meets the aspirations of local communities.
