Senegal and Guinea ready for 2026 school exam sessions

In Senegal's Tivaouane department, more than 18,000 candidates are registered for the 2026 school examinations, including 9,864 for the elementary Certificate (CFEE), 5,987 for the middle‑school Brevet (BFEM) and 2,830 for the baccalaureate. The region will drop the sixth‑grade entrance exam and hold CFEE tests on 17‑18 June, BFEM on 14 July and the baccalaureate starting 30 June, with replacement sessions in October. Officials highlighted logistical issues such as electricity shortages at one centre and the need for better civil‑status documentation for thousands of pupils.

In Guinea's Yomou prefecture, about 7,408 students will sit the same year’s exams: 4,552 for the elementary Certificate, 1,657 for the junior‑cycle Brevet and 1,199 for the unified baccalaureate. Exams will take place in 33 centres across 246 classrooms, supervised by 492 invigilators and 99 coordinators. Authorities have imposed strict anti‑fraud measures, banning phones and electronic devices, and warning of immediate disqualification for any cheating attempt.
