Senegal becomes Tunisia’s second-largest sub-Saharan African export market
Senegal has emerged as Tunisia’s second-largest export destination in sub-Saharan Africa, accounting for 10.6% of Tunisian exports to the region, valued at approximately 58 billion CFA francs. Tunisian Ambassador Rachid Saidani noted that the country currently has 140 companies operating in Senegal, exporting roughly 200 high-value products including dates, zinc, metal packaging, and pastry products.
To further strengthen these ties, a commercial mission recently held a dedicated event in Dakar to promote Tunisian olive oil. This initiative, supported by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) framework, utilized B2B meetings and thematic panels to explore new distribution opportunities for Tunisian producers within the Senegalese market.
