Senegal football federation fined $615,000 as coach suspended over unpaid bonuses

The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) was fined $615,000 by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for incidents during the AFCON 2025 final in Morocco. At the same time, national team coach Pape Bouna Thiaw was suspended for five matches and fined 60 million CFA francs after publicly exposing the federation’s failure to pay salaries and bonuses to staff and players despite a $11.6 million prize pool from the tournament victory.
