Pape Thiaw demands 423 million FCFA from Senegal FA
Former Senegal national team coach Pape Bouna Thiaw has issued a formal legal notice to the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), demanding 423,820,300 FCFA (approximately $745,000) in unpaid dues.
The claim follows Thiaw’s dismissal after Senegal’s exit from the 2026 World Cup. The requested amount includes 180 million FCFA for six months of unpaid salaries, 90 million FCFA in signature bonuses, 30 million FCFA in special bonuses, and 100 million FCFA related to performance in the Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup qualification. Additionally, Thiaw is seeking reimbursement for professional expenses, housing allowances, and fuel costs.
While Thiaw’s legal team is currently seeking an amicable settlement, they have indicated that legal action may follow if the federation fails to resolve the debt. Meanwhile, the FSF is moving to fill the vacancy; Togolese coach Daré Nibombé has officially submitted his candidacy to succeed Thiaw, and the federation is expected to announce a new head coach soon.
