Senegal BFEM 2026 exam with 195,634 candidates adds QR‑code result access

Senegal's Ministry of National Education launched the 2026 session of the Brevet de Fin d’Études Moyennes (BFEM) on 14 July, with 195,634 candidates registered nationwide and in exam centres in Gambia and Saudi Arabia. Girls account for 58.27 % of those sitting the exam. The authorities introduced several inclusion measures, including Braille scripts for blind candidates, enlarged print for the visually impaired, and accommodations for other disabilities.

Security and anti‑fraud provisions were strengthened: exam papers are sealed in bubble‑envelopes that carry QR codes to ensure traceability, and academy inspections now oversee the handling of test materials. A digital innovation allows candidates to view their results instantly by scanning a QR code printed on their invitation, a system already used for the baccalauréat.

In the Bignona department, 5,255 candidates are expected, with a near‑perfect gender balance (2,669 girls and 2,586 boys). The region will operate 68 exam centres, deploying 580 supervisors and 197 secretaries to manage the tests.
