Senegal police seize over 6 kg of cannabis in arrests in Grand Yoff and Rufisque

On 18 June 2026, Dakar’s Grand Yoff police arrested two repeat offenders after a tip about a drug operation at the "Gang" market. A search of a suspect’s room uncovered a sealed bag containing 6 kg of Indian hemp and cash, while a second suspect was found with 125 g of the same substance. Both men were detained and sent to the prosecutor’s office.

Separately, investigators in Rufisque pursued a debt complaint that led to the uncovering of a broader drug‑trafficking ring. Two suspects were charged with association of criminals, offering and selling Indian hemp and a synthetic drug known as "Souss," as well as impersonating customs officials and committing fraud. They too were forwarded to the parquet for prosecution.
