Senegal political tensions rise amid election warnings and presidential defense

Political tensions are rising in Senegal amid debates over political affiliations and potential electoral violence. Journalist Pape Ngagne Ndiaye has rejected claims that he is an opponent of Ousmane Sonko, asserting his professional independence and refusing to be categorized by any political leader. Ndiaye also issued a warning regarding upcoming local elections, cautioning that tensions between Pastef and the Kiiraay movement could lead to significant violence if political actors do not act responsibly.

In Ndiaganiao, members of the Maggi Kiiraay organization have mobilized to defend President Bassirou Diomaye Faye. They issued a strong condemnation of recent statements made by Arona Niome, which they characterized as lies and manipulations intended to disparage the President. The group emphasized that Ndiaganiao does not support efforts to undermine the Head of State and called for an end to what they describe as defamatory attacks against the administration.
