Senegal to recruit 2,527 teachers for 2026-2027 school year

Senegal's Ministry of National Education has announced the recruitment of 2,527 new teachers to prepare for the 2026-2027 school year. This government-authorized initiative aims to strengthen human resources within the educational system, improve student supervision, and address growing needs in schools. A meeting is scheduled for August 13, 2026, to determine the practical implementation modalities and coordinate the deployment of these new staff members.

Simultaneously, the National Framework for KIIRAAY Teachers (CNEK) has launched a national mobilization effort. The organization is establishing a ‘National Community’ to unite both public and private sector teachers under the KIIRAAY project. This movement seeks to create a unified voice to advocate for teacher rights, dignity, and the fulfillment of professional demands. CNEK plans to expand its territorial presence by launching regional structures and conducting a national tour to coordinate with its national bureau.
