Senegal weather forecast predicts widespread rain and storms

The National Agency for Civil Aviation and Meteorology (ANACIM) has issued weather forecasts for Senegal, indicating a return of rainfall across several regions. Following a relatively calm morning on Sunday, September 6, 2026, precipitation is expected to move into the southern parts of the country.

Forecasts for Monday, September 7, suggest widespread rain and thunderstorms affecting the West, Center, and East. Dakar is expected to see potential rainfall during the midday and afternoon hours. In the central region, Diourbel may experience thunderstorms around noon followed by moderate rain, with daily accumulations approaching 15 mm.

Other notable weather activity includes moderate to heavy showers in Tambacounda, with estimated daily accumulations of approximately 17.5 mm. Other areas at risk of rain include Fatick, Mbour, Kédougou, Sédhiou, and Ziguinchor. Authorities advise caution in low-lying areas and on roads where heavy rainfall may cause disruptions.
