Senegalese actress Diodio arrested in Keur Massar on cocaine charges
Actress Mame Diarra Diop, known as Diodio from the series “Baabel,” was detained by the Keur Massar gendarmerie along with three male companions after a viral video showed her allegedly consuming drugs. Police, acting in civilian attire, entered an apartment in Mbao, discovered approximately one gram of Indian hemp, six drug‑use syringes, a canister, sexual paraphernalia, crack residues and about 300 g of a white powder that tested positive for cocaine. The four suspects – Diodio (22), taxi driver Talla Dia (37), civil‑engineer technician Babacar Dièye (31) and plumber Baye Zalé Mbengue (18) – were placed in custody on charges of criminal association, possession and use of cocaine, Indian hemp and crack. They are scheduled to appear before prosecutor Saliou Dicko at the Pikine‑Guédiawaye tribunal. Diodio initially denied drug use, later acknowledging she was the video’s author but insisting she only smoked cigarettes; the other suspects also denied the accusations.
The investigation, led by the Brigade de recherches of the Keur Massar gendarmerie, continues, with additional network members reportedly being sought.
