Senegal's PASTEF Party Launches Online Membership Card Sales
The Senegalese political party PASTEF, led by Ousmane Sonko, opened an online platform for purchasing its membership cards through the website pastef.org, which redirects to the app.pastef.org portal. The launch attracted a large number of applicants, causing technical difficulties that displayed messages such as “a technical incident interrupted your request.” Party communications officer Amadou Ba confirmed the glitches on Facebook and said technicians were working to resolve them, while the party continues to distribute physical cards in its structures.
Birame Souleye Diop, responsible for the PASTEF‑Les Patriotes wing, clarified that the card‑sale campaign is intended solely to register and organize the party’s militants, not to compete with other political groups. He emphasized that the initiative aims to strengthen internal organization and consolidate the movement’s base.
