Senior community and academic initiatives promote active aging in Poland

Various community and academic initiatives in Poland are promoting active lifestyles and social integration for seniors.

In Skomlin, the ZaDyszka Skomlin running group organized a “Farewell to Summer” event in collaboration with the Skomliński Klub Seniora. The intergenerational gathering included a run toward the forest followed by a joint march with seniors. The event concluded with a social gathering featuring soup, cake, and the presentation of medals to distinguished seniors.

Additionally, the Białystok University of Technology has announced the “Constantly Active – Third Age Student Games,” a sports and recreational initiative scheduled for October 24, 2026. Designed for individuals aged 55 and older, the competition features team-based challenges including archery, golf, cornhole, and physical tasks such as medicine ball throws and rowing ergometer relays. The games also incorporate intellectual components, including logic puzzles, first aid testing, and sports history quizzes.
