Senior community programs launched in Warsaw and Legionowo
Various initiatives are being implemented in Poland to promote social integration and activity among senior citizens. In the Białołęka district of Warsaw, the RETRO SENIOR TOUR program, organized by the AVE Foundation, facilitates educational and historical excursions. Recent trips included visits to local vineyards to learn about regional traditions and historical sites in Sochaczew and Kampinos, focusing on the history of the Home Army.
In the Legionowo County, the “Blisko. Aktywnie. Razem.” project is organizing cultural outings, such as a screening of the film “Lalka” at the Helios Cinema. This initiative, co-financed by the Mazovian Voivodeship Self-government, aims to activate local seniors through cultural engagement and safety lectures. Both programs receive support from regional and national funding to improve the quality of life for the elderly through community building.
