Polish seniors take part in community trips, festivals and health workshops
Senior citizens across several Polish municipalities participated in a series of active outings and educational events in May and June 2026.
In the Brodnica commune, a group of seniors visited the Kórnik Arboretum, explored the historic park surrounding Kórnik Castle, enjoyed a boat ride on Lake Kórnik and shared a meal at a lakeside tavern. The trip was organized under the EU‑funded “Active Senior in Gmina Brodnica” project.
Health officials in Racibórz highlighted the importance of early detection of atrial fibrillation and hypertension among older adults, warning that untreated arrhythmias can increase stroke risk and urging regular blood‑pressure checks.
In Lublin, the second edition of the “MOSiRiada – Senior Activity Festival” saw teams from the Janów Lubelski pensioners’ club compete in sports, folk‑themed performances and craft workshops, earning a special trophy from the city mayor.
A workshop on “Crisis and Emotions Stored in the Body” was held in Stare Babice, where participants learned about the link between stress, the vagus nerve and physical wellbeing, and practiced breathing and relaxation techniques.
Kraków hosted the XIII International Senioralia, the largest senior‑focused event in Europe, offering free medical screenings, lectures on health and safety, anti‑fraud education, cultural performances and a senior fashion show.
Bytów celebrated its annual Senior Day on 6 June with musical performances, local craft stalls, free hearing tests and a medical team on site, supported by the municipal budget.
