Senior initiatives celebrated in Raszczyce and Bełchatów, Poland

In Raszczyce, the 20th anniversary of the Senior Meetings was marked with a ceremony at the local parish and the Aqua Brax recreation centre. The event gathered seniors, local officials including the starosta of Rybnick, the wójt of Lyski and the village head, as well as clergy. Performances by Mirek Szołtysek, his wife, the Duo Tirol Band and MC Piotr Scholz created a festive atmosphere, highlighting the role of the meetings in fostering community ties.

In Bełchatów, the municipal social assistance centre launched a free project called “Po‑MOC and support for caregivers.” The programme offers specialist consultations, physiotherapy, psychological workshops and relaxation techniques for people caring for seniors, the ill or disabled. Three group workshops will be held at the city cultural centre, with additional individual sessions at the centre or participants’ homes. Registration is limited and can be done by phone or in person.
