Seocho and Gangnam districts respond to real estate tax reform

Local authorities in Seoul's Seocho and Gangnam districts are taking proactive measures to address resident concerns regarding the government's ‘2026 Real Estate Tax Reform Plan’ announced on August 3.

Seocho-gu is collecting resident opinions until August 19 to relay them to the central government. The district aims to address anxieties regarding property rights and increased tax burdens, specifically concerning the Comprehensive Real Estate Tax and Income Tax Act. To assist residents, Seocho-gu will host three tax briefing sessions on August 25, August 28, and September 9 to explain changes in tax liabilities and response strategies.

Similarly, Gangnam-gu has scheduled a large-scale briefing session for 500 residents on September 18 at the Gangnam-gu Community Center. The session will feature tax expert Kim Ho-yong, a former official from the National Tax Service and Ministry of Economy and Finance, to provide practical strategies for navigating the new tax regulations.
