Seoul districts recognized for excellence in disaster medical response

Seoul's district health centers have demonstrated high proficiency in disaster medical response during the ‘2026 Seoul Metropolitan Disaster Medical Education and Training Competition.’ The competition, organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Emergency Medical Support Center, evaluated the practical response capabilities of rapid response teams from 25 autonomous districts.

Gwanak-gu received the Grand Prize in the overall evaluation category. The district was recognized for its comprehensive capabilities across the entire medical response process, including field response, patient triage, emergency treatment, transport, and situation management. Gwanak-gu particularly scored high in communication system training and tabletop exercises.

Eunpyeong-gu received the Excellence Award in the comprehensive training category, marking its third consecutive year of receiving awards at the competition. The district was praised for its systematic execution of response procedures, including rapid scene assessment and patient severity classification, as well as the collaborative capabilities developed through continuous training.
