South Korean emergency response training initiatives

Overview

Emergency response and medical training initiatives have been conducted across various regions in South Korea. In Incheon, Geomdan-dong held a two-day training session on August 20 and 21 as part of the ‘2026 Ulchi Exercise Resident Participation Training.’ Led by the Geomdan Volunteer Fire Brigade, the program provided community leaders with theoretical and practical instruction in CPR and emergency reporting to strengthen local safety nets during natural disasters or wartime.

In Seoul, district health centers participated in the ‘2026 Seoul Metropolitan Disaster Medical Education and Training Competition.’ The event evaluated the practical capabilities of rapid response teams from 25 autonomous districts. Gwanak-gu was awarded the Grand Prize for its performance in field response, triage, and situation management, while Eunpyeong-gu received the Excellence Award for its systematic execution of response procedures.
