Seoul hosts walking festival and regional farmers' market
Seoul is hosting several community events aimed at residents and tourists. The 2026 Seoul Walking Festival will close a 4.4-kilometer downtown route from Dongdaemun Design Plaza to Gwanghwamun Square this Sunday. The event, which saw 5,000 participants register within two days, will feature performances, a DJ set, and an LED light show in the Yulgok Tunnel. A mobile fitness station will also be available for participants to receive personalized exercise advice.
In preparation for the Chuseok holiday, the Seoro Market at Seoul Plaza will open for three days, featuring products from over 100 farms across South Korea. Visitors can purchase regional specialties, such as Uiseong garlic and Yeosu kimchi, at discounts of up to 30 percent. To assist with holiday expenses, the Seoul Metropolitan Government is also issuing 265 billion won in Seoul Love Gift Certificates at a 5 percent discount.
