Seoul launches initiatives to integrate international students into workforce and community

Seoul is implementing new initiatives to integrate foreign international students into the local economy and community. The Seoul Metropolitan Government has launched the ‘2026 Seoul Global Marketer Training Program,’ selecting 60 students from 53 countries to undergo professional training. The program covers trade practices, global e-commerce strategies, and the use of generative AI for market research. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between small and medium-sized export companies seeking global talent and international students looking for employment in Korea.

Simultaneously, the Jung-gu District Office has inaugurated its first ‘Global Supporters’ group. Comprising 26 international students from Dongguk University representing 10 different nations, these supporters will act as linguistic and cultural bridges. They are tasked with assisting foreign residents and tourists, translating administrative information, and providing interpretation services during major local festivals and emergency situations.
