Seoul woman arrested after taxi runs over foot, tests positive for methamphetamine

Around midnight in a narrow alley of Gangnam‑gu, Seoul, a woman in her early twenties was found lying on the roadside with her legs stretched out. A taxi passing through the alley inadvertently ran over her foot, but she remained conscious and showed no sign of pain. Police who responded noted her dazed eyes, confused speech and lack of typical injury response.

A rapid on‑site drug test returned a positive result for methamphetamine, a powerful stimulant that can numb pain perception. She was detained at the scene on suspicion of illegal drug use. During later questioning she said she could not remember the incident because of the drug’s effects. A subsequent search of her apartment uncovered additional methamphetamine and used syringes, suggesting she was not the sole user.
