Seoul drug‑related criminal cases

In early August 2026 Seoul police recorded two distinct drug‑related incidents. On 1 August, a woman in her early twenties was found after a taxi ran over her foot in a Gangnam alley. A rapid on‑site test showed she had methamphetamine in her system, leading to her arrest and the discovery of additional drugs and syringes at her residence.

Five days later, authorities charged a 52‑year‑old man, identified as Na, with the murder of a woman in a Su‑yu office‑tel. The investigation revealed Na’s extensive criminal background, including multiple child‑sex convictions, and forensic tests detected both cannabis and methamphetamine residues in his body and seized material. He now faces homicide, aggravated robbery and drug‑control charges.
