Serbia and Croatia announce new agricultural subsidies

Agricultural authorities in Serbia and Croatia have announced new funding opportunities and updated application deadlines for various agricultural sectors.

In Serbia, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management has re-issued a competition for the protection and use of agricultural land for 2026. The program offers significant subsidies, including up to 80 percent of costs for digging wells for irrigation and up to 70 percent for irrigation equipment. Other support includes up to 100 percent for soil fertility control and up to 70 percent for land consolidation works. Applications for well drilling and irrigation equipment are due by October 16, 2026, while soil fertility control applications are accepted until October 30.

In Croatia, the Agency for Payments in Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development has released an updated call for investments in primary agricultural production, totaling 90 million euros. The funds are distributed across several sectors: 25 million euros for meat production, 25 million euros for milk production, 20 million euros for fruit, viticulture, and vegetable production, 10 million euros for seed and seedling production, and 10 million euros for the laying hen sector. Applications for meat producers open on October 1, 2026, with a deadline of December 1, 2026.
