Serbia automotive exports reach 2.8 billion euros in H1 2026

Serbian automotive exports reached approximately 2.8 billion euros in the first six months of 2026, marking a 51.1 percent increase compared to the same period the previous year. According to data from the Republic Statistical Office, the automotive industry has become the country's most valuable export sector.

Stellantis in Kragujevac has been the primary driver of this growth, specifically through the Fiat Grande Panda model, which has seen high demand in the European Union market. Unofficial reports indicate that production volume at the Kragujevac plant has more than doubled since the beginning of 2026, rising from an initial daily output of roughly 200 vehicles.

Bojan Stanić of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia noted that the industry's progress is vital for the domestic economy, helping to reduce the foreign trade deficit and supporting local suppliers, engineers, and workers. The competitive pricing of the Grande Panda—ranging from 15,490 euros for petrol to 24,990 euros for electric versions—allows the Serbian-made vehicles to compete with lower-cost Chinese imports while remaining more affordable than vehicles produced in more expensive European manufacturing hubs.
