Serbia employs 100 top medical graduates and 380 technicians

Under the ‘Employment Program for the Most Successful Graduates of Medical Faculties and Secondary Medical Schools’, 100 top medical graduates and 380 nurses and technicians in Serbia have received employment contracts. The program, initiated in 2018, also provides opportunities for professional development through free specialization and doctoral studies.

During a ceremony at the Serbia Palace, Acting Minister of Health Zlatibor Lončar emphasized that the state aims to ensure the best doctors care for Serbian citizens and to recognize the hard work of high-achieving students. He encouraged the new professionals to utilize their training in Serbia and eventually return to apply their knowledge locally.

Jelena Drulović, Director of the University Clinical Center of Serbia, noted that several top graduates expressed interest in working at the facility, with specific interest in fields such as nephrology, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, and ophthalmology. Additionally, the Institute of Oncology and Radiology of Serbia reported the arrival of four new doctors to work in radiotherapy, pathology, and radiodiagnostics.
