Serbia extinguishes major fires in Rudna Glava and Golubinje

Firefighters in Serbia have successfully extinguished major fires in Rudna Glava and the area surrounding the village of Golubinje. The fire in Rudna Glava began on September 3, while the Golubinje fire started on September 6.

According to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dačić, the operations saved three households and five abandoned buildings in Rudna Glava, as well as seven households and four abandoned buildings in Golubinje. No casualties or injuries were reported.

Emergency responders were managing over 100 open-space fires across Serbia. The firefighting efforts for these specific incidents involved 83 firefighters from Majdanpek, Bor, Zaječar, Požarevac, and Donji Milanovac, supported by two Ministry of Internal Affairs helicopters. Other participating groups included volunteer fire departments, Srbijašume, Đerdap National Park staff, local authorities, and residents.
