Serbia implements school infrastructure and educational reforms
Serbia is implementing various initiatives to improve its educational infrastructure and learning models. In Ruma, the facade of the ‘Ivo Lola Ribar’ elementary school has been renovated with funding from the Provincial Government of Vojvodina, continuing a multi-year investment cycle that includes roof and classroom upgrades.
In a broader educational shift, 20 elementary schools across Serbia, including the ‘Sava Žebeljan’ school in Crepaja, have adopted a new full-day teaching model. Funded by the World Bank and supported by the Ministry of Education, this European-style program allows students to complete homework and participate in extracurricular activities at school, reducing the burden on parents.
Additionally, the municipality of Plandište has secured funds to enhance road safety near schools in Jermenovci and Margita. The project involves installing speed displays and traffic calming measures to protect students in school zones as part of a long-term safety strategy.
