Serbia inaugurates Chinese-partnered humanoid robot factory

A new advanced technology factory has been inaugurated in Šabac, Serbia, marking a significant expansion of Chinese robotics into Europe. The facility is a collaborative project between the Chinese giant Minth Group and Agibot, a company specializing in advanced robotics.

The plant aims to establish the first European structure for the mass production of humanoid robots designed in China. According to Serbian authorities, the factory is expected to produce over 5,000 robots annually, with future capacity projected to reach approximately 20,000 units per year. The product range includes humanoid robots, quadruped robots, and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić attended the inauguration ceremony, where he interacted with various robotic models. The establishment of this facility comes amid international discussions regarding the security implications of advanced robotics, specifically concerns over surveillance and data collection capabilities in foreign-made hardware.
