Serbia Ministry of Justice forms group for Belgrade court division

Serbia's Minister of Justice in a technical mandate, Nenad Vujić, has established a working group to manage the division of the Third Basic Court and the Third Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade. The group is tasked with identifying and distributing essential resources, unfinished legal cases, archives, and personnel between the existing Third Basic Court/Prosecutor's Office and the newly designated Fourth Basic Court/Prosecutor's Office.

The working group is chaired by the Minister of Justice and includes members such as the President of the Higher Court in Belgrade, the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, and representatives from judicial unions. This reorganization follows amendments to the Law on the Seats and Areas of Courts and Public Prosecutor's Offices, which are set to be applied starting March 1, 2027. The group must propose a distribution plan to the Ministry of Justice by November 1, 2026.
