Serbia pellet prices exceed 50,000 dinars per ton
Pellet prices in Serbia have risen significantly this heating season, with some warehouses charging over 50,000 dinars per ton—a 50 percent increase compared to last year. Experts attribute this surge to high demand following previous electricity price hikes, which prompted many consumers to switch to pellet heating to avoid high utility costs.
In regions like Čačak, firewood remains a primary heating source due to its proximity to forested areas, with prices ranging between 7,000 and 8,500 dinars per cubic meter. While coal remains available and relatively inexpensive, demand for it has dropped due to environmental concerns regarding emissions. Meanwhile, the scarcity of pellet supplies has led some traders to sell limited quantities only to regular customers.
