Serbia raises railway fares and highway tolls in July

From 15 July, Serbian railway operator Srbija Voz will increase passenger ticket prices by about 10 percent, citing upgrades to customer experience, new rolling stock and infrastructure investments. Regular travelers, especially on the Novi Sad‑Belgrade corridor that uses a temporary station in Petrovaradin, have voiced concerns over unpredictable service and the added cost.

The government also announced a new adjustment of highway tolls for July 2026, continuing its annual inflation‑linked revisions. The previous increase in July 2025 raised tolls by roughly 4.3 percent. Current toll rates range from 340 dinars for Belgrade‑Novi Sad to 2 060 dinars for Belgrade‑Preševo. The exact percentage for the upcoming hike has not yet been disclosed, but drivers can expect higher travel expenses this summer.
