Serbia records 2.7% inflation in June, government says measures are working
Prime Minister Djuro Matus told a meeting of the Council for Gross Domestic Product growth that Serbia’s inflation rate in June was 2.7%, "below the EU average," indicating that the government's policies are delivering results. The average monthly salary was reported at €1,038, a real increase of 11.5% year‑on‑year.
Sectoral data showed tourism earnings rising 5.5%, with foreign‑tourist nights up 9.3%, while retail trade grew 6.2%. Exports increased 7.7% from January to May, outpacing a modest 1% rise in imports. The council discussed these macro‑economic indicators and affirmed a commitment to maintain stability, attract investment, create jobs and raise living standards. A further meeting is planned before the end of July to monitor progress.
The government highlighted ongoing reforms, infrastructure projects and support for small businesses as part of its strategy to sustain the positive economic trend.
