Bosnia and Herzegovina expels Serbian diplomats following Ratko Mladić funeral
Diplomatic relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia have deteriorated sharply following the official funeral ceremonies for Ratko Mladić in Belgrade. Bosnian Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković declared Serbian military attaché Milan Dulanović and BIA advisor Darko Maksimović persona non grata, ordering them to leave the country within 48 hours. Konaković also announced the withdrawal of nearly all Bosnian Embassy staff from Belgrade and a reduction of bilateral relations to a minimum.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić responded by stating that Serbia will not react with hysteria but will implement measures of reciprocity in a rational manner. Regional leaders have expressed strong condemnation regarding the glorification of Mladić, a convicted war criminal. Croatian Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković accused Serbia of attempting to revise the history of the late 20th century, while Croatian politician Tonino Picula stated that such actions contradict European Union values. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, political tensions remain high, with officials in Republika Srpska criticizing the moves from Sarajevo as politically motivated.
